HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR ASPHALT MAINTENANCE?

We are one of the best Asphalt Contractors for Asphalt Maintenance Baltimore, Annapolis, Prince Frederick, and around, providing expert services for commercial and industrial properties. We repair damaged paving in three steps.

  1. The perimeter of the affected area will be saw-cut to provide a clean, professional-looking edge, and to provide maximum structural integrity. All cuts will be made at least 12-18” outside of the visible surface damage because most damage starts underneath, working itself upward and showing itself at the surface last. If the repair area is too small, there can soon be new damage around the perimeter of a new patch.
  2. Old, weathered, damaged, and decayed asphalt will be milled, loaded, removed, and recycled as asphalt is the most recycled material in the world. The asphalt sub-base will be inspected and the appropriate maintenance action will be taken, this may include, pruning back tree roots, introducing new crushed rock, or providing additional compaction on the base or sub-base.
  3. The new hot mix will then be placed and compacted. Tar seal is then applied to the asphalt seams (between old adjacent to new) to prevent moisture penetration. By most asphalt standards, the actual asphalt thickness (not including base and sub-base) should never be less than 2 inches. Areas with heavy traffic loads, including high traffic volume on the asphalt application, will require a greater thickness.
